Safeguarding

Statement from the PCC

Every person has a value and dignity which comes directly from the creation of male and female in God’s own image and likeness. Christians see this potential as fulfilled by God’s re-creation of us in Christ. This implies a duty to value all people as bearing the image of God and therefore to protect them from harm.

The PCC has adopted the Church of England's 'Promoting a safer church' as its own safeguarding policy. We make sure that we ‘safely recruit’ and support all our staff and volunteers working with children and adults. Our safeguarding policies and procedures are reviewed annually.

If you have any concerns about the welfare of a child or vulnerable adult, or the care that is being provided; or if you need to talk to someone about something in our church that isn't right or has upset you, please contact our church safeguarding officers. Their details together with those of the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer can be found on our 'Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility' quick reference guide.
